Glamour Girls!!!!!!

Steff had her birthday party today!! Due to some tight scheduling at the end of the month...and the fact that this was the only day available at Beaners for the next two months...we decided to celebrate a little bit early! She had a Hawaiian Luau and all the girls were glammed up! They looked adorable...most were curly and some went straight....and one wanted a mohawk...but we wont name names. It was a fun party and she received lots of cute gifts...she came home and enjoyed them all!! Thanks girls for helping us celebrate Steff's special day!!!

Family Dance

Last night was the annual family dance! It was also the first time I have been out (other than doctors appts). It was so fun...and an even bigger crowd than last year! All the kids had so much fun dancing the night away. The chicken dance, macarena, ymca and cha cha were the favorites this year. Like last year, I didnt get the greatest pictures it is a hard environment to capture on film. It was so fun to see family and friends and catch up! I had to drag the girls off the dance floor when it was time to go. I even broke out for one dance....maybe a little much coming off bedrest...but oh well! It was a fun time for everyone and we look forward to it again next year!

First SKI DAY of the Season!!!

Mike took the girls skiing today to try out all their new gear!! The girls had a great time and remembered all the ski rules from last year! They were off and skiing in no time and all had a great time!!

A GREAT Day!!!!

Sorry for the bad picture..there were a few workers at the house today! Hurray! Mike went over to the post office this morning to pick up our awaited letter! Our walkthru is set for the 22nd and our possession date is JANUARY 29th!! We are so excited!!!! Paige, Kristin and Emily came closest with their guesses! However we may have to change to the 28th as Mike is in the OR on the 29, 30 and 31st....so we are hoping for some flexibility. I popped to the house today and the tilers are almost done and have done a great job and the hardwood was just being installed. Im shocked now at how fast things can actually move. We are used to quite a snails pace...but it is so fun to see the house come together! And we cant wait to move in and get settled....hopefully before baby comes!
Then I went to have an ultrasound and doctor appointment and came out jumping for joy. The doctor has taken me off bedrest as my placenta is now 'low lying' rather than a previa!! So Im supposed to still 'take it easy' but my risk for bleeding has significantly decreased! However, baby is laying transverse...like Paige was...and I may have to have another version at 37 weeks if he doesnt flip. But the goal is to now have a vaginal delivery in the OR...and avoid a CSection. So this was all great news...and Im hugely relieved. I now need to build back up my strength slowly each day and get ready for a baptism, a move and a new baby (in that order!!)

WE HAVE A DATE!!!!!

The first action on our lot...Nov 2006
Not the most recent photo of the outside..but the most recent I have taken.

We signed papers on our house in Sept of 2006, we first saw action on the lot in Nov 2006 and FINALLY...we can see an end!!! We have been waiting for an 'Official Date' from our home builder..they have to send it registered mail for some reason. Well the registered letter has arrived! In fact it arrived on the 24th..but the postman did not ring the doorbell for a signature! Turkey! I was here!!! The only bummer is...is that I dont think the post office is open today either....so we cant pick up our letter! Ugh...we are dying to know what our date is! Im going to take a guess of Jan 31st. Any other guesses before I post the date????
Our votes are in....Stephanie is voting with January 18, Paige tried January 32..but then changed to January 28 when I told her there wasnt 32 days in January, Emily says January 30, and I went with the 31st...Mike being the 'optimist' went with Feb 15th!! LOL We will find out tomorrow!! FINALLY!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas!! We hope everyone had a very special day. We want to THANK everyone who made our day extra special! We missed being with family desperately this year...and we received so much from so many...we feel truly blessed! The girls were so fun this year...we sent last minute emails to Santa to put in our wish lists. Luckily Santa can pull through at the last minute...thanks to those elves! After a fun Christmas Eve filled with goodies and laughter (thanks to Home Alone) the girls settled quickly anticipating Santas arrival. They were not disappointed and were so glad that Santa could squeeze down the mini chimney to deliver the presents. Luckily he brought the flying Lightening McQueen for Paige. She has played with it all day and flies a barbie around on it. Santa was also able to bring the WII gaming system and a game for everyone! Another favorite!! Mike was thrilled to get us all skiis! We are so excited to bypass the rental line this year....and look forward to many fun ski days...ok...well Ill have to wait on that one. Mike also wins most creative gift award...he painstakingly hunted down our wedding photographer and had a portrait blown up for me! Im so thrilled! The girls hardly recognized me and decided that picture was taken a LONG time ago!! Auntie Wendy gave the girls barbies which they have SO enjoyed...as their collection has been packed away. She also gave us a collage of pictures which are so cute and we cant wait to hang! Nonna & Poppa spoiled us as always....and Grandma worked so hard to finish a most precious gift (which will remain secret...for now)! We were spoiled with many treats and fun gifts from friends! We hope friends and family every where have had a fun and memorable day!! We missed you all and are thinking of you!! Merry Christmas!!

Tagged....

Ok..Ive been tagged. Thanks alot Kristin...I have to write 7 things you may or may not know about me. And Im tagging EVERYONE on my Blog list....if you dont know who you are...check my list to the right and have fun!!

1. My favorite favorite time of year is Christmas. I love everything about the season. I love decorating and putting up the tree. I love baking and doing gingerbread houses with the girls. I love listening and singing along to Christmas music. I love reflecting on the meaning of the season and attending the Nativity each year. I love the anticipation, the shopping, the wrapping, the gifts under the tree. I love egg nog, homemade chocolates, visits with friends and Christmas parties. I love a cozy fire and watching the twinkling lights on the tree. I love each Christmas that we spend alternately with our extended family....it is always crazy but so much fun. I will miss all of this desperately this year....

2. I love to sing tho Im not any good. If Im alone in the car...Im singing. If Im alone in the house...Im singing. If Im cleaning...Im singing. I love tons of music and enjoy many genres....starting with disco 70's & Abba!

3. Im ADDICTED to Dancing with the Stars!!! I secretly wish I could learn all the dances and just dance!! It is so fun to watch and I love seeing the different choreography! I watch religiously every week...but dont watch the results show. I just check on the internet. This season I have loved watching Helio and Julianne. They are dynamic and his smile is so darn cute! How could you not vote for him???? The finales are next Monday..so tune in and vote!!

4. I love love love the beach, ocean and sun! While living in Florida we visited the beach as much as possible. These were my favorite moments! I loved going with Mike and the girls to the beach and sometimes just Mike ;)!! The beach/ocean is different each time you go. I love the hot sun, the sticky white sand, the crashing waves, the salt on your lips and I love playing with the girls in the waves!!!! Oh I miss it.....

5. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited....after 14+ years...to finally (hopefully) get in my 1st house!!!! We have waited so long...and lived in so many places. I cant wait to be in a place of my own....to do with it what I want....to decorate it and make it a home. To get us all organized....oh to be out of boxes and organized! I may have a huge bonfire and all are invited to attend the burning of the boxes!!!! I have loved choosing every detail (tho it was nerve racking)...I love that we will move in and have hand picked every last detail..making it ours. Cant wait...cant wait....

6. The hardest moment of my life was learning that my sweet 9 month old daughter had a brain tumor. Things like that..you just dont expect them to happen to you. I remember distinctly so many moments of that experience....from the moment Mike held my hand in the waiting room of the MRI department and told me that Emily had a tumor, from meeting with the surgeon and learning about the invasive procedure that they wanted to perform on her....from kneeling in her nursery with Mike pleading for the life of our daughter, sitting by her side in ICU as she came out of surgery hooked to every possible machine you could imagine and watching tears stream from her eyes. This was a difficult time for me and one I dont care to revisit often. It changed me and strengthened me. Im so grateful for our family, friends and the knowledge of the gospel that we have...that carried me through this time.

7. I married the greatest guy! I love and adore him to pieces. He is handsdown the hardest worker I know. He has grown and thrived through his medical training...never faultering in his strong desire to be a physician and help people. He works insane hours and I dont know how he does it! He deals with stresses that I cant imagine. He deals with life and death every day...and handles the pressure. He is a great husband and father. I love that he can come home from a 4 day/3night shift at the hospital and pay special attention to each girl and work math problems and work on letter formation. He loves getting the girls outside to do anything. He adores his girls and is excited to have a son! He handles and balances his life perfectly and inspires me to be and do better! Im so lucky to have him in my life!!

Ok..there you have it. That was hard. Good luck to all tagged!!

Home Rest.....

Ok...Im ready to blog...I had to come to terms with my assessment with my OB yesterday. The doctor has put me on what we will call 'home rest'. I am not to leave the house (I did get permission to pick up Paige from Kindergarten everyday..as long as I drive). I can only leave the house for my ultrasounds and checkups. I need to be laying or sitting as much as possible....at least 3 (3 hour) periods per day. I can be on my feet for less than 20 mins at a time and do occasional stairs( I didnt mention how many stairs are in this place). I am not tied to my bed...I can do laundry as long as Im not hauling, I can prepare light meals as long as they take less than 20mins and luckily I can still work for Mike in short periods. The goal is to keep pressure off the placenta to deter bleeding as long as possible. If or when I bleed it is possible delivery time for baby...and at 27 weeks it is still far too early for him to come. I have a nurse that will check in on me 2 or 3 times a week and a direct link to an ambulance in case of bleeding. Soooo.....that is the update. Im less than thrilled ( a bit teary to be chained down)...but glad Im not stuck in a bed. At least I can do little things to keep this family functioning. I sat down with the girls and explained that getting this baby here..safely and healthy is now a family affair and we are all going to have to work hard. They are anxious to help and most concerned about the baby. I love these girls and am so glad they are willing to pitch in..I love to see their enthusiasm and love for a little brother whom they havent even met yet!

Baby Update....

Okay... I met with my doctor last week and had a detailed ultrasound yesterday. To save myself explaining this I will blog it. At my last ultrasound I was diagnosed with Complete Placenta Previa (CPP) and I was put on pelvic rest and required to restrict activity and relax. Well I found that was virtually impossible with 3 little girls so all it did was cause me to feel guilt along with more stress. Anyhow, we were quite anxious for this ultrasound at 26 weeks as my doctor told me last week if the previa hadnt resolved that she would put me on home bedrest. Again, not a great option going into a busy holiday season and trying to finish a house. So I was a basket case (fragile) to say the least. My apologies to Mike. My ultrasound was long and detailed and they determined that the placenta has moved slightly with my growing uterus ...so I am now considered a 'marginal' previa (border line partial...the placenta is ever so slightly over the cervix). So this is good news....but not great news. It has to move 2 cm away from the cervix in order to lose restrictions and have a normal birth. Baby is in a breech position right now and sitting right on the placenta. Crazy boy. So my restrictions remain as there is still a huge risk for bleeding...I will meet with my doctor again on Tuesday to further discuss bedrest ( I hope she will accept a plea deal to restrict my activities but not lay me out in bed). I also have a followup ultrasound in 3 weeks to check on the placenta again. So, Im sure that is more than you ever wanted to know about pregnancy and placentas. I definately have taken my previous pregnancies for granted that things went so smoothly. But on a positive note...baby is growing perfectly....and is as active as ever!! Cant wait to meet him!! And no....no names yet...all my suggestions are quickly denied. This is nothing new...Mike has named all the kids so far. Im sure we will wait till the 11th hour and be forced to write a name on the paper before we are released from the hospital.
Special thanks to Alex who has volunteered to skip school and move to Calgary to help take care of me if I have to go on bedrest. Complete with a bell...just ring and he will come! And for Christy volunteering to make all my meals for my family and do all my shopping! Hmmm..maybe I should rethink this bedrest thing! LOL

An MRI breakthrough for Emily!!!

Emily had an MRI scheduled last week. For the first time, she did it with NO sedation!! This was a huge accomplishment for her and we are so proud! In fact, Grandpa called her a hero for being able to do it. Emily has had MRI's since she was 9 months old. She went from having them 4 times a year, to 2 times a year and has now graduated to just one a year! These days were always a huge deal because she would have to fast prior to her MRI and then she always had a difficult time coming out of sedation and really wasnt normal the whole day as she recovered. So none of us looked forward to her MRI days....but we all wanted the reassurance that her tumor was not re-forming. So, finally, the doctor thought she was old enough to give it a try. It is scary....she is totally strapped to a board from head to toe and immobile. The machine is loud and she is in there for almost an hour holding perfectly still! I question whether I could do it! Mike met us at the new Childrens Hospital and was able to sit with her and rub her legs to reassure her that she was doing great. She was out and done and off we went with our day! It was soooooo nice!!!! Our MRI days will be so much easier now!! YEAH EMILY!! And Mike has read the report and she has the ALL CLEAR!!! That is always a relief for us...as we are well aware this type of tumor could always resurface no matter how far out we are from its removal. We are so grateful once again for a clear MRI! And we are done for another year!!!!

Cabinetry!!!

It's been a fun and stressful week watching the cabinets go in. Everyday Ive been so nervous watching our drawing on paper transform onto the walls hoping that I havent totally messed it up!!! We are still waiting on a couple of pieces that were made wrong in the mudroom and laundry room and our den is yet to be delivered. I love seeing the cabinets in...feels more like a house coming together now!!

a HEART full day....

For Young Women's in Excellence, I was assigned to do the refreshments. The theme this year is 'Hearts knit together in Love' so what better..than heart sugar cookies for refreshments?? No problem. I guess I underestimated how long it actually takes to make that many cookies...and the girls and I spent the whole day today pumping out heart cookies! They were everywhere! The girls were a great help and at the end of the day we ended up with 120 heart sugar cookies! Im going to serve them with Mary's Raspberry Frappe which is so so so so so good!! It is hands down my favorite punch!! Thanks for helping me with the hearts girls!!!

Loved This....

My sister sent me this link. This is the Britain's Got Talent contest! He is simply amazing and he went on to win the competition. For more of his songs...go to youtube and search for Paul Potts. I had tears watching this. GO PAUL!!!! Ps to watch you need to pause the jukebox at the bottom of my blog... ENJOY!!! Thanks Kristin for sharing!!!

A FUN NIGHT!!!!!

My Dad was in town for the day yesterday so we got to meet him and go for dinner to our FAVORITE place!!!!! We chose the Keg location right across from the hospital in hopes that Mike could sneak away and join us for a bite to eat. However, shortly after we sat down..I got a call from Mike and he had a motorbike vs semi coming in. Dad suggested just signing the certificate and coming for dinner...lol. He couldnt get away butwe dined and enjoyed anyway. It was so delicious and so fun to have Dad for the night! We dropped off Mikes dinner as we left and headed home for some fun games! We love it when Grandpa has business here...because we love having visitors (we did miss Grandma tho)!!!!! When it was time for him to go...Paige packed up her backpack with all her essentials (blanket and cars) and said she was going with Grandpa. She said she would be back in time for the baby to be born! LOL Thanks for a fun night Grandpa...we LOVE you!!!!
Ps I checked for an update on the motorbike guy on the news...no update..but there were also 3 stabbings and another collision that sent 3 ppl flying out of the vehicle and another 4 ppl (7 in total)to hospital...so Im guessing Mike had quite the night last night....

20 weeks...the countdown begins...

I get these weekly emails from baby center. Each week they tell me how big baby is and what is happening with the baby. Finally I open up today's email and it says Congratulations...you are half way to baby!! I feel like I should be nearly done!! For some reason my body is not tolerating pregnancy like it used to. I also got put on 'pelvic rest' this week..due to placenta previa. So now I feel like I have to walk on pins and needles. We are excited to meet this guy and have been working on nursery ideas. We are also discussing names...The girls are constantly trying to name the baby..and we have gone thru all the Harry Potter character names..including Paige's contribution of Voldemort. They are constantly coming up with new and crazy names. Finally yesterday I said...Ok how about if you 3 are not on the 'Name the baby committee.' LOL They werent impressed and are still naming....

Welcome to Blogging TUCKERS!!!!

The Tuckers Weston, Florida June 19,2006
Im so excited another Florida friend has started her blog!! The Tuckers!!! We met the Tuckers when Emily and Hayden were in the 1st grade together! Both Lynne and I would go to meet them after school and her daughter Sydney and Steff were like 2 peas in a pod and became bossom buddies! Steff then joined the same preschool and the girls were in Kindergarten together. We had so much fun with the Tuckers. They were always up for little trips in Florida and loved going to the beach! We had so much fun catching up with them in April. They even met up with us in Cocoa Beach before we headed on the cruise, the kids LOVED seeing them!!!! The Tuckers have since left Florida for Alabama as Rob works for the Coast Guard and they are transferred every 4 years. We cant wait to see them again! Lynne's link is on my sidebar!!

BOY SHOPPING!!!

K I love these little boy outfits!! I love the chocolate brown and blue thing!!
I had to get this little shirt that said 'Little Brother'!! And I love the teddy coat...it is so cuddly!
IS this not the cutest?? It is sheepskin and SOOOO soft!! It has little bear claws on the back!
BOY SHOPPING!!!!
With having 3 girls..it was very rare that I ventured over to the blue side of the store. Often just to grab a quick gift...but never lingered too long. Always felt a little out of place I guess. So I stopped in after my ultrasound..knowing we had NOTHING in the way of blue items! And luckily I hit a great sale and had so much fun picking out a few things for the baby!!! Paige said she cant wait for him to come out of my tummy. She said she will just start screaming and freaking out! LOL I about fell on the floor laughing!!!

Terry Fox Run

Today the girls and I participated in the Terry Fox run at their school! We first went to an assembly where Stephanie and a few 2nd graders taught us about who Terry Fox was. It was very touching and inspirational..and then we all headed out to the field to see how many kilometers we could run. It was so neat to see these little girls just running their little hearts out! Paige would race as fast as she could. Before we headed out she passed me the water bottle to carry...and said, "Here Mom, now would you try and keep up with me??" And off she went! So cute! The girls did great and it was a nice day for a run!

Here's a little Terry Fox history for those who dont know or have forgotten:
Terry was only 18 years old when he was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma (bone cancer) and forced to have his right leg amputated 15 centimetres (six inches) above the knee in 1977.
While in hospital, Terry was so overcome by the suffering of other cancer patients, many of them young children, that he decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research.
He would call his journey the Marathon of Hope. After 18 months and running over 5,000 kilometres (3,107 miles) to prepare, Terry started his run in St. John’s, Newfoundland on April 12, 1980 with little fanfare. Although it was difficult to garner attention in the beginning, enthusiasm soon grew, and the money collected along his route began to mount. He ran 42 kilometres (26 miles) a day through Canada's Atlantic provinces, Quebec and Ontario.
It was a journey that Canadians never forgot. However, on September 1st, after 143 days and 5,373 kilometres (3,339 miles), Terry was forced to stop running outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario because cancer had appeared in his lungs. An entire nation was stunned and saddened. Terry passed away on June 28, 1981 at age 22. The heroic Canadian was gone, but his legacy was just beginning. To date, more than $400 million has been raised worldwide for cancer research in Terry's name through the annual Terry Fox Run, held across Canada and around the world.

The REVEAL!!!!!!

I sent the girls on a scavenger hunt to find out what the baby was going to be! They raced from clue to clue to figure it out! They were so excited to find out that finally they were going to have a baby brother!!! It will be new seeing blue around the house. There is a lot of pink...but we are so excited to see BLUE!!! So the girls want to know what we are naming the baby....they have been throwing around names all night...and there are some funny ones! Luckily we have time to contemplate the name!

HERE's BABY!!!!!

Here are new pictures of the baby! We got some great great shots...I love this one of the legs! Baby is healthy and crazy! And YES!!! We know what it is!! Finally, a baby that wanted to show us!! However, I havent told the girls yet...so as soon as I do...I will reveal!!!

BLUE OR PINK???

BLUE or PINK??????
(NO, not my belly...lol)
Ok...Im one week from my next ultrasound!! And, YES, I plan on finding out what baby is...if baby co-operates! Im one who likes boys in blue and girls in pink! And I love getting everything ready!! Plus they are close to painting our house so I could get the nursery painted and save myself some painting!!
So.....put in your guesses!! I'll give you some info...so you can make an 'educated' guess! I will tell you that in my family...of those who have 4 kids...ALL have 3 girls and a boy! Weird huh?? So, Ill either join the trend or throw the trend completely. There is a huge trend of girls on both sides. That being said...my pregnancy feels the same as my other pregnancies...same sickness...same cravings (I eat chips like you cant believe..healthy I know) etc. Now some girls say they carry boys and girls totally different...but others say they carry the same. So I dont put too much weight on how Im feeling. I have never had intuition either way in any pregnancy...nor do I with this one. What else can I tell you??? Some say that when you have genders all the same...if there is a gap you get the other gender. There will be 5 years between Paige and this baby. Oh, and I did the chinese predictor test this morning...it said girl (my sister swears by this one...but I think it was wrong with Emily). I did the wives tale quiz also..it said 52% girl and 48% chance of boy. I did not do the needle or the drano quiz.
So that is all I can think of!! Cast your votes...either on my blog or facebook!

What the SNOW??????

I was down in the den working all morning and I noticed the time and realized I had 4 minutes before Paige got out of Kindergarten. I dashed outside...only to be shocked by white fluffs falling from the sky!! It cant be that time already can it?? What happened to fall?? Well, hopefully these few fluffs wont stick around too long and we can get back to our nice fall!! Paige thought it was pretty funny tho...and immediately stuck out that long tongue of hers to catch some fluff on it!! Okay the snow was not captured very well in the camera...but I swear..its there!!!

Welcome to Blogging AMADO'S!!!!!

Talk about Customer SERVICE!!!

Sunday night Mike was fiddling on the computer when the keyboard froze. I was in the middle of dinner and couldnt stop to find out what the deal was. Later that night I sat down to ponder the keyboard issue and I couldnt fix it!! This sent me in a bit of a panic as it was the imac which I use to work from home! So I googled a solution and tried everything that I could find...nothing...frozen!! So, yesterday, I emailed mac and they told me to order a new part as it is under warranty. So I did. However, when they sent me the email to confirm, I was mortified to see the estimated delivery date of Oct 1st!! Ugh...two weeks without working?? My boss was going to be ticked!! LOL. Well I was SHOCKED when the delivery guy showed up this afternoon to deliver my new keyboard. I ripped it open, hooked her up, and VOILA...back in business! Nice to have great customer service!!!!! Guess I better get back to work!!! :)

Updated Pics on House

Okay....after months of waiting...we FINALLY have drywall! I finally remembered to take the camera over and take some pics (some are a little dark...sorry). This has totally changed the look of the house! The girls are sad they can no longer walk thru the walls of the house. We are so glad to see progress again. We are hoping we get stucco before the freezing temps come in a few weeks....otherwise it will be the black house for us until May. And it is a little scary looking....

Chalk ABC's

Emily decided it was time for Paige to learn to write her ABC's so they grabbed some chalk and headed outside. Next thing we knew....all the sidewalk and driveway were full of letters!! Emily would make the letter...than Paige would copy it underneath. It was so cute!!! However, the next day it rained..and all their hardwork was washed away!!!

1st Day of School!!!

1st day of school is always so exciting!! All 3 girls in school...I can hardly believe it! The girls popped out of bed excited to start the day! Paige started Kindergarten but just had an hour this morning! She put on her new backpack and marched off to school with the big girls! She was so excited...and she was so good to stay without a problem even tho she didnt know anyone in the class! When I went to pick her up, I peeked in the door and she was on the carpet playing cars and trains with 7 boys! All the girls were in the 'house' station. I had to chuckle...funny girl!!! So we start another school year! Very exciting!!!!
