Rockin with Chris Daughtry!!!!!

Last night I dragged Mike to a concert...CHRIS DAUGHTRY!! (Ok...actually it was Nickleback, but Daughtry was one of their guests!) I have been so excited to see him in concert as he is my new fav artist. Love his CD!!! So he did NOT disappoint! He was awesome in concert! Even Mike leaned over and said....this is awesome! I was so shocked...so Im glad he enjoyed too. The guy has an amazing voice! And I was even more impressed because there were a few other bands too....all who used the worst language! So I was hoping that wouldnt be the case with Daughtry...and it wasnt. No bad mouth with him...I was so glad...he went up even higher in my books. I was a little disappointed that he didnt play my favorite song at the moment...Feels like tonight! He should have ended with it...maybe next concert!!!!!!

Finally after 10 years.....

Okay, finally after 10 years...I have joined the Harry Potter fan club! But I figure why wait all those years to wait for each new book to come out? Wait for the last one..and blaze through all 7 in a row!! Emily and I have had fun reading them! So Ive been tearing through them...Im on number 3 and really enjoying the wizards world! I now know the lingo...Hogwarts, Muggles, Diagon Alley, Dumbledore, Dark arts, Gryffindor, Voltemort (the one we dont speak of)...and my favorite...Quidditch! So if any of you are looking for me...I probably have my nose buried in a Harry Potter book!

Update on House...

Okay..the house came to a virtual standstill for months. The last pics I took..there was snow on the ground. But things are finally moving again...so I thought Id update. The house now has a front door (a nice homemade plywood..so the real one doesnt get wrecked) and the missing window is now installed. The black wrap is going on so the house will be sealed! Finally...no more rain inside! It really got my goat to go in and have puddles everywhere!! We are just finishing up some last minute framing details and framing in the basement. Then a couple electrical changes and we are ready for insulation and drywall. We have been told..once drywall goes up..things really move! I wont hold my breath..this whole house building thing has been soooooooo slow! I lost the house race with my younger sister who gets her keys Today (so jealous) so now Im racing my older sister who just bought a few weeks ago..and already has drywall!! Ok...Michelle...lol..the race is on...but Im already losing this one too! Dang....

SCHOOL's OUT!!!!

No more homework, no more lunches, no more schedules!! SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!! The girls all finished up at noon today! They all passed (whew) and next year Emily will be in 4th grade, Steffi will be in 2nd grade and Paige starts kindergarten!! Wow! So crazy!! We have a busy and fun summer planned...starting on Friday with our first week at the cabin. Cant wait! We love our summers in Montana!!!

Emilys 9th Birthday Party!!

For Emilys Birthday party...she chose to take her friends to go see the new Nancy Drew movie! Being a big Nancy fan myself...I happily agreed! The movie was a hit with all the girls and I heard comments during the show like...'Wow...Nancy is so cool', 'Wow, she is awesome', 'Wow...she sure is smart!!' So Im sure Ive just let free 11 little Nancy's all ready to solve their own mysteries. So dont be surprised if they start knocking on walls looking for secret passageways. And go pick up some Nancy Drew books for summertime reading! FYI--(I just learned the first Nancy Drew novel The Mystery of the Old Clock was written 73 years ago!!) It was a fun night and thank you to all Emilys friends for coming to the party and for all the cute gifts! Emily is now the proud parent of 4 webkins...which we will have to figure out and lots of summer reading!! Thanks for celebrating with us!!!!

Last day of BeeHappy Preschool..

Paige's last day of BeeHappy School was today! We are so sad to say goodbye to her cute class and adorable teacher! Mrs. Hamilton has tought all my girls in BeeHappy school and she is truly amazing! Paige has just adored her school and comes home full of stories and songs to keep us all entertained! Paige has all ready commented that she does not want a new teacher....she just wants Mrs. Hamilton! Maybe I can convince her to teach kindergarten.....

Dancing with the Stars Wanna Be....gonna See!!!

Im going!!! Im so darn excited! K...Im a total nerd! I had no idea they were coming here..but they are..and I just got tickets!!!!! July 22!! Im so EXCITED!!!

Happy 9th Birthday Emily!!!

HAPPY 9th BIRTHDAY EMILY!!!!
I can hardly believe Emily turns 9 this year!! Where did that time go?? I am amazed at how she has grown! Seems like just yesterday I was waiting and waiting for her to come! Nonna had a fun family party for her and Amy on Sunday! Then on her birthday she wanted to go to Phoenix Grill! We all enjoyed that choice! Mike had to go in that evening to do a case..so after the girls swimming lessons...we met auntie amy and hallie, ella and claire at marble slab for some delicious icecream!! It was a fun day! Emily is having a little friend party on Friday and she chose to go see the new Nancy Drew movie! Emily and I have been reading Nancy Drew books! We both love them. I read them as a little girl and still love them! It is so fun to share books with Emily now!! Happy Birthday Emily!!!! It is so fun to have you in our family!!

The EASY Move...

Okay...I had to laugh at this little slogan...want to ease your move?? DO NOT use uhaul!! I have to say...I was amptly warned by my 4th cousin once removed to reconsider the uhaul move. But it seemed so simple...pick up the truck..move your stuff safely. Well our Uhaul idea fell through and we had to rig up a way to move without it! So with the use of two odyssey's, a red truck, a 4runner and a gorgeous garage trailer...we were able to move our household. We moved late Friday night..and finished up Saturday morning. This was an uneventful move for us...and really just an extra pain...as we have to do it again in just a few months. But oh well...it is done! Thank you THANK YOU thank you to all who pitched in to help the effort. We appreciated it SOOOOOOOO much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im just finishing the cleanup job at the old house...then Ill organize the temporary house so that it is functional for the next few months! Meanwhile we will watch anxiously for the new house to be done...and to a time we can actually feel settled...for the first time in 14 years!!! CANT WAIT!!! Thank you again!!!

Sweet Strawberry Paige

Bee Happy School had their annual Strawberry Festival today! This is my 3rd one and I just love it! The kids are so darn cute! And their teacher Mrs. Hamilton is so sweet and puts on a great show! Paige sang her little heart out! She has loved her class and teacher and we will be sad to see the year end! I wasnt in a great photo op spot so these were the best pics I got. They all were such cute little strawberries! And what a beautiful day!!

BOXES AGAIN!!!

Okay so last night I got the bad news that someone has rented our house for July 1st!!! So brutal. Sometimes I have the worst luck!! Im so stressed out because that pretty much leaves us HOMELESS AGAIN!! I cant even believe it. With no word on when our house will be liveable!! So today Im hauling out the boxes AGAIN!!! Ill also be desperately searching for a place to live or Im hitting the road and living like a gypsy!!! 3 moves in 3 years and Im sooooooooooooo not looking forward to staring at boxes AGAIN!!! One day I am going to have a huge bonfire and burn these things!!!

APOLO WINS!!!

Ok I am getting too darn old...and couldnt stay up late enough to watch the results! LOL...darn it...I need TIVO!! So I had to cheat and find out on the net who won!! Im so excited that Apolo won! I cant believe how into it I was this season..but it was some great dancing!!! I need to keep practicing on my DWTS dvd...Im not quite up to par yet....cha cha cha!!!

FLUFFY RAIN!!

So this morning I woke up..looked out the window and noticed white things falling from the sky!! I exclaimed...IT IS SNOWING???? Steff looked at me and said....No mom, it is just FLUFFY RAIN!!! Ahhh, of course it is! This after we had a beautiful week last week and even felt 27C one day!! Welcome back to Calgary....you just never know what you will find when you wake up!! I decided it would be a good day to make cookies...so I began making some. Steff comes down and says...You are making cookies?? I cant remember the last time you made cookies!! WHOOOPS!! I guess it has been awhile! So... fluffy rain and cookies! What a day!!!

Computer Woes....

Lately I have had such a struggle to use my computer!! I always find a little pink on it doing something. The girls have Macs at school and now they can manipulate around the computer so fast and Paige watches them and can do it too! It is great but now they always want to be on the computer and I cant get my work done!! I guess I should train them to do my work....problem solved!!!

Elbow Valley Falls

Mom and Dad were up visiting and we took a day trip out to Elbow Valley in Kananskis. It was a beautiful day! Paige followed Grandpa around the whole day! She loved being with him....reading his car magazine and chatting on the picnic blanket. The girls loved playing in the rocks near the river and I was sure someone was going in...but only Emily's foot fell in so all was good. It was a fun day and so nice to get back outside again!! We are like bears coming out of hibernation! Thanks mom and dad for the fun visit!!!!

Grandma Smiths Farm!!!

We had a free weekend and decided we would use it to go visit Grandma Smith on her farm in Carmangay Alberta! It was finally feeling more springy and we had a great time! We were able to get some of her yard work done for her...which the girls loved...using all the gardening tools! Then we went for a hike...and Mike showed us all his childhood memories from the farm. Then we pulled out the ball and bat and spent hours hitting the ball around! Grandma had cupcakes for us to decorate and they turned out so beautiful and were fun to eat! When the girls were exhausted and it was time for bed...they were so excited to find 3 snuggly bears on the bed!! So cute! We had a great weekend...and look forward to more visits soon! Thank you Grandma Smith!!

Entrepeneurs...

So today I was busy billing for Mike after school and told the girls to find something to occupy themselves with. I heard them busy crafting at the kitchen table and then they all left and went outside. A few minutes later they ran back inside so excited because they had made some money!! I was shocked and asked them just what exactly they had done to make money. They had sold some pictures! They each made a quarter!! Oh my...lucky neighbours...now have some art by the Dunham Girls!! Anyone else interested can contact Emily!! LOL!!

Dancing with the Stars Wanna Be...

Ok...Ive been indulging this season and actually sit down to watch Dancing with the Stars each Monday night (tho my boss says I should be using that time to work for him). I usually cant tune into the results show..but usually find out pretty quickly who gets the boot. So that being said....I have to say...Im cheering for Apolo...he can sure dance!! A close second choice is Joey. How I wish I could dance like this...it looks like so much fun!! Any other Dancing with the stars wanna be's out there?? Soooooooo I was so excited to find this on the website!!!!!!! I can dance in the privacy of my own home!! Next time you see me....watch out...I may break out into a Paso Doble!!
No partner needed...hahahahaha...this is going to be hilarious!!!
