A Day In My Life

by james
When I wake up, my sisters are usually the first to hear me playing in my crib. They race to come get me!

I check to see who it is...

I greet with big smiles!!! And bounce up and down till they get me out!

Steffi got me today!! I LOVE Steffi!!
These are our 'WE JUST WOKE UP' faces.

Mom changes my diaper and gets me dressed for the day...I really have no patience for this and try to escape as fast as I can...out the door!! There are things to be doing!!
I need to get downstairs!! This is quite the adventure for me...but Im getting better...I know to swing my little leg till I feel the stair..and then I can pretty much just SLIDE all the way down!!

Mom has to be careful that there are no items (distractions) on the stairs. If I get ahold of one...I forget the drill and sometimes take a tumble (OUCH!)
Mom then puts me into my eating chair and I nibble on cheerios (have you tried the honey nut ones?? YUMMO) while I watch the girls furiously get ready for school! It is crazy, breakfast, lunches, hair...oh MY!!

Yup...still waiting...

And finally we are all packed in the van and we are off! Notice that Mom just flipped my car seat around! It is sooo great! I dont have to stare at the seat anymore...I can even find my mom in the mirror and I SMILE big!!

When we get home from taking the girls...there are so many things to do!! Mom spent a lot of time in the past few weeks organizing cupboards and drawers. Guess what??? I just figured out how to open these doors....and there is a whole new world to explore inside!! So I immediately start exploring and opening any cupboard I can find. Sometimes, I even reorganize it for mom...she LOVES my help!! She says....Oh James!!!

Usually Mom and I head up the stairs to do some straightening up and laundry! I like to take a spin on the treadmill!!
Then I help mom with her upstairs cupboards!!

I LOVE company! Today we had lots of worker guys coming and going. I kept my eye on them to make sure they were doing a good job!

Then it is time for a snack. Thanks to my new 6 teeth, I get to try all kinds of new things. Sometimes I dont like them..and spit them right back out (Mom loves this...she says...Oh James!). Sometimes I throw them on the floor...this is a fun game! Sometimes I love them and gobble them down and want more!!

Then more chores. Mom really keeps us busy!! As soon as I hear the dishwasher open, I know it it time for my FAVORITE chore!! I come RACING around the corner!!
I get my little foot up as fast as I can!
And Im UP!! Usually just for a second and Mom takes me away. But Im FAST and Im back in a flash...she LOVES my help with this job!! What would she do without me????
Well, Im tired and need my nap now...its been a busy morning!! I will try to share the rest of my day later!! OOOOO I LOVE my bed and blankies!! Here I come!!!!

Such cute girls!! They loved playing games...but each game lasted only 5 minutes then they wanted the next one. It was a whirlwind of activity!!!

They LOVED the limbo....and didnt really care about the rules...they just made up fun ways to go under or over the limbo stick!!

Paige LOVED opening presents and received so many cute and thoughtful gifts!

She blew out all her candles and the girls LOVED making icecream sundaes with all the goodies on top!

ROTTEN ICE!!!!

Okay....it is REALLY treachorous outside! We have had SOOOO much snow this year...it is piled up. In the last couple of weeks, we have had warm days to melt the snow into ICE...everywhere!
Our roads are like driving on a rollercoaster and hoping not to get stuck in an ice/slush mess.

Well the school yard is a complete ice skating rink and every day the girls have stories of kids who have fallen and gotten hurt. Well my turn was on Wednesday. I was busily going thru my day when I get a call from the school.
Mrs. Dunham, Emily was out on the school ground and had a bad fall on the ice. (This is the moment that I hold my breath) She seems to be ok, but is pretty upset. She had a substantial nose bleed. We have just gotten the nose to stop bleeding. We do not think it is broken. (PHEW). Could you come and pick her up??
So I grab James and race to the school. Emily is quite upset, her whole snowsuit and gloves are full of blood. We quickly gather her things and head for home. We talk about the situation and how scary it was, but everything is fine. (Apparently she fell flat on her nose, we are lucky we do not have a broken nose or glasses!!) She rests for the afternoon and we do some major laundry. She is now sporting a larger than normal nose which is very tender and scraped up. It could have been much worse...so we are counting our blessings. I just want all this snow/ice/mess to melt and go away. It is ugly and causing problems...especially on the school ground! I just hope my girls stay off the ice and that I dont get any more 'Mrs. Dunham' phone calls!!

Stephanie's HULA GIRL Party

Stephanie decided to have a Hula Girl party for her birthday party this year! I have to say...this is a GREAT (and EASY) theme. Many of the decorations came from our surfer girl room so it was soooo easy to decorate!

Kekepania
All the girls received Lei's and their Hawaiian names when they arrived at the party!!

Under the palm tree! The girls looked so cute in their Hawaiian Lei's. This palm tree was a big hit too! I had bought it in Florida before we left...so it was PERFECT for this party!

We had found a DVD that taught girls how to do the hula! So we had all the girls put on grass skirts and follow the DVD! It was so cute to see them all do the hula...they were really good.

For food we had Hawaiian Pizza and lots of fresh fruits and Veggies. We were going to have Hawaiian punch to drink. But I was a little nervous of the Bright RED color of the punch so we made a punch (that was not red) to drink. For dessert, we had icecream sundaes. Stephanie is not a big dessert girl (crazy I know) so she opted for icecream sundaes with all kinds of fun toppings!

This was the hula instruction. They did stand up and move along with the dvd.

Stephanie received sooooooo many cute presents! She LOVED them all. After 4 hours of games (Hawaiian pictionary, pass the coconut, hide the coconut, musical beach towels, tacky tourist relay, pass the orange, hawaiian knots, hula hula coconut, the limbo and of course the pinata) all the girls were tired! It was a fun fun party!
(And we are doing it all again for Paige's party!!)
