Arriving in Hawaii!!!

FINALLY, after a marathon flight we arrived in Honolulu!  All the kids were troopers and didnt complain a bit tho they did mention that it was the longest flight EVER and they would NEVER do it again (I bet they will tho).  James was awake for 6 of the 7 hours from Vancouver to Honolulu and was entertaining the whole plane. We did many trips up and down the aisle and he entertained and waved as we went. He walked, ran and crawled up and down the aisles.  He was so good and happy and we cant complain a bit. We were quite exhausted and hungry upon arrival. Mike zipped off and bought us all beautiful lei's! Oh they smelt sooooo good!  The girls were so thrilled with them! What a special treat after that long plane ride!!!

So we had a bit of luggage with 6 of us including a baby travelling for 2 weeks!  We totally squished into this van complete with a 7'6" surfboard and stroller! The girls were troopers and travelled with suitcases at their feet and on their laps! I laughed looking back at these cute faces...so excited to be in Hawaii!!

We stayed the first week at the Marriott Ko'Olina Vacation club. It was a beautiful resort and the kids LOVED their pools! They had a few to choose from and we bounced around to all of them!  The kids swam and swam and swam! We loved staying here and there was never a dull moment. We barely left the area the whole week.  The kids were thrilled with everything there!

James was so excited to be free after that plane ride. We couldnt get him to sit for dinner ...he just wanted to roam and explore. This is him checking out the grass. It was a funny feeling between those walking toes!

The sun was just setting as we showed up at the hotel. We were all STARVING so we went to dinner right on the beach! I enjoyed a pricey but totally worth it Pina Colada! Oh it was delicious! The girls were quite anxious to explore and stretch their legs so we ate quickly and started touring the area!

The Ko'Olina area of Oahu is made of 4 lagoons which the Japanese made.  They are beautiful little lagoons connected by a mile and a half walking path.  The lagoons are perfect for little kids to swim in!  We didnt have to stress that a monster wave was going to sweep them away!

James LOVED going on walks in the stroller!  He would just look at everything and wave to everybody we passed! It was so cute!  I think he loved not having to wear all those heavy winter clothes every time we stepped out the door! What freedom!!
We didnt last too long before all of us were weary from the trip! I think we were all tucked away in bed at 8pm that night!!  But that is midnight Calgary time...so it only made sense!
