Surfing Oahu!!

One of the hilights of the trip was the surfing!  Mike hauled his 7'6" surfboard all the way to Hawaii and wanted to put it to use!  The other boys rented boards for the whole time we were there...and they were definately put to good use!

The first surf the boys found was at the Coast Guard beach near Ko'Olina.  We only made it there once and should have gone back.

Mike

Alex...what a little surfer dude! He was out with all the uncles!  This kid has no fear!!

MARY!! What a cute surfer girl! I think she got up her first wave!!

Brian had some surfing experience from his Mexico trip and could get up every wave he caught!

The boys.  There was a nice surfing spot right where we stayed at turtle bay and even a viewing area which made it nice for those trying to take pictures!

I dont know why...but the waves look way bigger in real life.

It was so fun to watch these boys out surfing. They had endurance and determination! Surfing is not an easy sport. You have to wait forever for the right wave!  They spent hours out there!

This shows where they were surfing...we would just stand on the side and watch and snap photos...it was a great location!!

I agree Lisa. The waves never look half as big in pictures as they were in real life! But I know since that happened with our pictures, that it must be so with yours. Where's the pictures of YOU surfing??

LOL...I did go out surfing the last day on Waikiki. You had to paddle out soooooooo far to catch the waves...my arms were dead from paddling. I did have 3 fun rides tho...but no pictures...too far out!

Your surf photos are awesome! It's so hard to get a good one...waiting and waiting for it...then snapping it at the right time is so hard.
That one of Mike with the turtles in the background is one for a frame, that is for sure!
